Znam tylko jeden rodzaj owadów, które są traktowane jako ewidentnie piękne, wręcz są piękna symbolem, motyle. Ludzie mają generalnie problem w znalezieniu piękna w chrząszczach, muchach czy karaczanach ale motyle podziwiają wszyscy. Tworzenie obiektów z ich użyciem jest dużo trudniejsze niż praca z innymi owadami. Zwykle sztuka czyni rzeczy piękniejszymi niż są ale inną istotną jej kwestią jest przekora, gra zmysłami. Dlatego upiększanie motyli byłoby bez sensu. Dużo większym wyzwaniem jest odebranie im oczywistego piękna. Tylko czy to jest w ogóle możliwe?


I know only one kind of insects treated as absolute symbol of beauty, butterflies People have problem with finding beauty of beetles, flies, cockroaches but butterfly is awesome for all.
Making artefacts with using this beings is more difficult than with other insects. Usually art shows items more beautiful than they are, but another important issue is contrariness, playing with senses. Taking it into account, beautification of butterfly would be without sense. The bigger chalange is making it uglier. Is it possible at all?

I invented nothing, I bought ready artefact. You can buy pig skin exactly in this form of volumes. It is ready record of pain and death...

Jestem coraz bardziej pewna, że najważniejszą kwestią sztuki jest zepsuć jak najmniej. Piękno już istnieje w naturze. Jedyne co mogę zrobić to starać się je jakoś zachować, eksponować.
Kolekcjonuję ślady po życiu. Nie tylko zwłoki z mojej własnej hodowli, poprosiłam załogę insektarium i herpetarium warszawskiego ZOO o zbieranie dla mnie martwych okazów oraz wylinek. Mój cmentarz się rozrasta...

I am increasingly sure the most important issue in art is to damage the least. All beauty exists already in nature. The only thing what I can do is saving of this natural treasure.
For this reason I collect remains of life. There are not only carrion from my own breeding. Now I have a deal with Zoological Garden in Warsaw. The stuff of insectarium collects for me dead insects and instars. Another thing is collection of thrown reptile skins.
My big cemetery is growing.
